U.S. Congressional Candidate to Testify Before Grand Jury Following FBI Raid and Allegations of Fraudulent Complaint

In a tumultuous turn of events, Gabe Whitley, who ran for Congress in Indiana’s 7th District against incumbent Rep. Andre Carson and lost, is set to testify before a Grand Jury on the 16th of this month. Whitley, whose political campaign was marred by controversy, now faces serious allegations stemming from a complaint that led to an FBI raid on his home.

Last month, Whitley's residence was raided by the FBI based on a complaint tied to his Federal Election Commission (FEC) campaign. The complaint was allegedly filed fraudulently by the wife of a friend of Abdul Hakim Shabazz, a disgraced lawyer with a notorious reputation and an apparent personal vendetta against Whitley. Shabazz, who has been accused of having an unhealthy obsession with Whitley, reportedly orchestrated the filing of the complaint as part of a broader scheme.

Whitley has confirmed that during the raid, FBI agents misled him during their initial meeting. Multiple witnesses and text messages support Whitley's claim that the FBI agents initially indicated they were investigating Abdul Hakim Shabazz for allegedly embezzling funds from the Marion County Fairgrounds Board. Furthermore, the FBI agents acknowledged that they had knowledge of Shabazz siphoning money from his failed Indy mayoral campaign.

Adding to the controversy, Whitley claims that FBI agents deleted critical files from his computer during the raid. These files allegedly contained evidence of Rep. Andre Carson's use of deceased individuals and fictional movie characters in his campaign finance records. Whitley, however, managed to save copies of these files on a thumb drive.

The backdrop to these events includes a previous legal battle between Whitley and Shabazz, wherein Whitley won a defamation lawsuit that was dismissed on November 2, 2023. The lawsuit and its dismissal have only intensified the animosity between the two parties.

Further complicating the situation is the involvement of Zack Meyers the Prosecutor on this case, who previously worked for the late Julia Carson, Andre Carson’s grandmother. Meyers is confirmed to be aiding Shabazz in his pursuit of Whitley, adding another layer of political intrigue to the unfolding drama.

As Whitley prepares to testify before the Grand Jury, the outcome of this case could have significant implications for all parties involved. The allegations of corruption, fraud, and political sabotage highlight deep-seated issues within the local political landscape, raising questions about the integrity of electoral processes and the lengths individuals will go to settle personal scores.

The political community and the public at large will be watching closely as Gabe Whitley steps into the spotlight once again, this time not as a congressional candidate, but as a key witness in a high-stakes legal battle.
