50501 Group Bused In Sparks Violence in Muncie, Indiana: Accountability and Prosecution Demanded

MUNCIE, IN – Chaos erupted this past weekend at Congresswoman Victoria Spartz’s town hall meetings in Westfield and Muncie, Indiana, as members of the 50501 organization descended upon the events, allegedly assaulting Hoosiers and nearly attacking the congresswoman herself. Hoosier Enquirer reporters were on the scene, witnessing firsthand the violence and aggression unleashed by this so-called “grassroots” movement. What unfolded was not a peaceful protest but a calculated assault on Indiana residents and their elected representative—a dangerous escalation that demands immediate criminal investigation and accountability.

On Friday night in Westfield and Saturday morning in Muncie, supporters and activists affiliated with the 50501 group gathered to protest Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN), targeting her support for President Donald Trump and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by Elon Musk. Hoosier Enquirer has confirmed through eyewitness accounts and local sources that 50501 bussed in agitators from outside the state, intent on sowing discord and clashing with Hoosiers, particularly Republicans who came to engage with their congresswoman.

Inside the Muncie City Hall auditorium on Saturday, the situation turned volatile. Our reporters observed a woman, later identified as a 50501 activist, leap toward Congresswoman Spartz during the town hall, prompting swift intervention by Muncie Police officers who arrested her on the spot. The crowd, already at capacity, jeered and booed Spartz’s responses, but this physical aggression marked a stark escalation. Outside, the scene was even more disturbing: 50501 members were seen punching, spitting on, and assaulting veterans and other attendees, turning a democratic forum into a battleground.

The 50501 movement, according to its own website, claims to be a “decentralized, grassroots political action organization” that emerged in late 2024 to oppose the second Trump administration. It boasts of having no single leader, tracing its origins to a Reddit post by user “Evolved_Fungi” in January 2025, which snowballed into a nationwide network via social media. Key figures like Kay Evert, who has spoken publicly about its Reddit roots, and Potus Black, a leader of the D.C. chapter, emphasize its volunteer-driven nature. The group has partnered with Political Revolution—a progressive outfit originally tied to Bernie Sanders’ 2016 campaign—chaired by Gloriann Sahay, to bolster its organizing efforts.

But the Hoosier Enquirer’s investigation reveals a darker side to this movement. Despite its claims of peacefulness, the violence in Muncie contradicts their narrative. Furthermore, 50501’s press contacts raise red flags about its true intentions. Sarah Parker, listed as a contact and the President of “Voices of Florida,” is no mere activist—she’s an elected State Committeewoman for the Democrat Party in Sarasota County, Florida. Gloriann Sahay, meanwhile, boasts a history as a Sanders campaign volunteer. These ties suggest 50501 is less a spontaneous uprising and more a coordinated extension of radical partisan agendas.

Why Indiana? The answer is chillingly clear: 50501 is here to lay the groundwork for chaos, much like the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, when out-of-state agitators flooded the Hoosier State to burn, loot, and murder under the guise of protest. This weekend’s assaults on veterans and attempts to harm Congresswoman Spartz signal a premeditated effort to intimidate and silence dissent. Hoosiers—proud, hardworking, and patriotic—became targets of a group that appears well-funded and highly organized, despite its public disavowal of a budget or hierarchy.

Governor Mike Braun must act decisively. The Indiana State Police and local law enforcement need to investigate 50501’s operations, funding, and out-of-state recruitment tactics. Prosecutors across the state should prepare to hold every member of this organization accountable for violent acts against Hoosiers. This is not mere political disagreement—it’s a burgeoning color revolution in the Midwest, a deliberate attempt to destabilize our communities under the banner of “resistance.”

The 50501 group’s website may tout peace and grassroots purity, but their actions in Muncie tell a different story: they are dangerous, not peaceful. Hoosiers deserve to know the truth about this shadowy network and its radical backers. Veterans spat upon, a congresswoman nearly attacked, and citizens assaulted in their own towns—these are not the hallmarks of democracy but of anarchy. It’s time for justice. The 50501 movement must face the full weight of the law before their violence spreads further across the heartland.
